Custom sportswear should look consistent, fit correctly and meet the specifications agreed before production. At FLP Gears, our quality control process focuses on the details that matter to clubs, academies, distributors and sportswear brands: fabric quality, garment measurements, stitching, colors and custom branding.

From our manufacturing facility in Sialkot, Pakistan, we produce wholesale soccer, baseball, basketball and American football uniforms, alongside training wear and off-field apparel. Our quality checks help identify issues during production and before orders are packed for shipment.

Quality Starts with Clear Order Specifications

An effective inspection begins with knowing exactly what the customer has approved.

Before production, we review the relevant order details, including garment design, fabric selection, size chart, colours, logo placement and personalisation. These references guide production and provide a basis for checking the finished garments.

For your custom teamwear order, specifications may include:

  • Fabric type and target GSM.
  • Garment measurements and agreed tolerances.
  • Artwork version and colour references.
  • Logo dimensions and placement.
  • Player names, numbers and sponsor details.
  • Labels, packaging and quantities by size.

Clear specifications help reduce misunderstandings and make quality easier to assess.

Fabric Inspection and GSM Checks

Fabric affects how a garment feels, fits and performs. Before cutting, we inspect material for visible defects, shade variation and suitability for the selected product.

Depending on the fabric and order requirements, checks cover surface appearance, stretch and recovery, and consistency across the material being used.

We also check GSM—grams per square metre—against the agreed fabric weight. GSM helps confirm material consistency, but it does not establish durability or performance on its own.

A lightweight match jersey, training top and pair of baseball pants each require fabric suited to their intended use.

Colour Matching and Custom Branding Checks

Team colours, club crests and sponsor logos are central to a uniform’s identity. We compare production colours and decoration against the approved artwork, sample or agreed reference.

Our branding checks cover:

  • Logo size, position and orientation.
  • Player name and number accuracy.
  • Sponsor wording and artwork details.
  • Print clarity and alignment.
  • Embroidery appearance and finishing, where applicable.

Colours can appear differently on screens, printed fabric and embroidery thread. For colour-sensitive orders, an approved physical sample provides a more reliable reference than a screen image alone.

Garment Measurements and Size Consistency

A correct size label should correspond to the agreed garment measurements.

During production and final inspection, we compare selected measurement points with the approved size chart. These may include chest width, body length, sleeve length, waist, inseam and shorts length, depending on the garment.

Measurements are assessed against agreed tolerances to identify pieces that require correction.

For team orders, clear sizing references are especially important when supplying both youth and adult garments.

Stitching and Construction Inspection

Good sportswear construction supports comfortable movement and a clean finish.

We inspect seams and stitching for skipped stitches, open seams, loose threads, uneven construction and puckering. Where applicable, we also check waistbands, hems, cuffs, pockets, zips and drawcords.

Checks are adapted to the product. A basketball jersey, pair of baseball pants and training jacket have different construction details and inspection priorities.

Washing and Colour-Bleed Checks

Washing checks help assess how a selected fabric and decoration behave under the intended care conditions.

Depending on the order, these checks may cover visible colour bleeding, changes in garment dimensions, print appearance and fabric condition after washing.

If your project requires a specific test method, performance threshold or independent laboratory report, discuss it before sampling and quotation. The testing scope and acceptance criteria should be agreed in advance.

Final Garment Inspection and Packing

Before dispatch, we review finished garments against the order requirements.

Final inspection covers garment appearance, measurements, stitching, branding and visible defects. We also check the order breakdown, including sizes, quantities and personalisation details where applicable.

Items requiring correction are separated for review before packing.

Packing checks help confirm that garments are grouped and labelled according to the agreed requirements, making the order easier to receive, identify and distribute.

Quality References for Repeat Teamwear Orders

Repeat orders need clear references to the original specification.

When requesting a reorder, provide your previous order number, approved artwork and size chart, together with any requested changes. These details help establish the correct starting point for fabric selection, colours, measurements and branding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does sportswear quality control include?

Sportswear quality control includes checking fabric, measurements, stitching, colours, decoration and finished garment appearance against agreed specifications. Order quantities, size labels and packaging are also important parts of the final review.

How do you check custom logos and player details?

Logos and personalisation are compared with the approved artwork and order information. Checks include placement, dimensions, spelling, numbers and overall appearance.

Can you manufacture using our size chart?

Share your garment measurement chart before sampling. Measurement points and acceptable tolerances should be agreed so that production and inspection follow the same reference.

Does a higher GSM mean better sportswear?

No. GSM describes fabric weight. The right fabric also depends on its construction, composition, stretch, intended use and the performance required from the garment.

Can we request specific testing?

Please include any testing requirements with your enquiry. Required methods, acceptance criteria, laboratory arrangements and costs need to be confirmed before production.
